FROM ‘GREATER PARIS’ TO ‘BIG PARIS’

In his report to the President of France, Roland Castro put forward a vision of “a new kind of global metropolis”. One of its ambitions is to deploy Paris beyond its historical bounds by constructing “a metropolitan oasis”. This was the background for the contribution by architect and town planner Antoine Grumbach in which he affirms that “inert soil is a raw material of the ‘circular economy’‘” and that its re-use is one of the key issues for the co-ordinated development of ‘Big Paris’. As the main player in the re-use of inert soil, ECT is fully involved in this process.
