On June 11, 2026, at the Villeneuve-sous-Dammartin site (Seine-et-Marne), Laurent Mogno, president of ECT, and Ovarith Troeung, CEO of Hyliko, officially unveiled Europe\u2019s first hydrogen-powered truck designed for transporting construction materials.<\/strong><\/p>

The construction industry is among the largest emitters of greenhouse gases, and the transport of materials is one of the key areas for action. As Laurent Mogno pointed out, the first step toward decarbonization is to limit distances and operate within a local loop. Inland waterway transport often involves short-haul trips that generate high emissions, and rail transport remains too complex to implement on construction sites. Therefore, the focus must be on trucks.<\/p>

In light of this challenge, hydrogen is emerging as a high-potential solution to replace diesel in the most intensive applications. The \u00cele-de-France Region has set a target of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 26%, with a clear ambition to develop hydrogen vehicles for commercial transportation, including heavy-duty transport. As Olivier Blond points out: \u201cIt is a source of real pride to see the first hydrogen truck dedicated to public works in France and Europe emerge in \u00cele-de-France. This Hyliko fuel-cell truck, operated by the Mauffrey Group, is not a prototype: it has been in use for several months under real-world conditions on Grand Paris construction sites, transporting excavated soil from Lot 3 of Line 17 (contractor: Razel-Bec, Fayat Group). Unstable ground, dusty environments, heavy loads, intensive usage cycles\u2026 the vehicle operates amid the most demanding conditions of public works. Feedback from Razel-Bec has been very positive, and Toyota Motor Europe emphasizes the importance of this real-world data for accelerating the improvement and industrialization of the sector. These trials confirm that hydrogen technology is now mature enough for heavy-duty construction transport.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
