ECT joins the "Oasis Nature” network supported by Humanité et Biodiversité (Humanity and Biodiversity)

What is the « Oasis Nature” network supported by Humanité et Biodiversité.

« Oasis Nature » is a space for the preservation of biodiversity in order to recreate links between humanity and nature. Participation in the network is voluntary. It requires good land management practices. The dedicated space should be conducive to the reception and flourishing of wildlife.

A commitment that translates into compliance with a charter

A charter is neither a legal document nor a list of requirements but a commitment to sustainable behaviour

  • Spontaneity: nature finds its place in this Oasis where there is no hunting.
  • Natural: The Oasis Nature is a pesticide-free area, where sustainable techniques for maintaining green spaces are applied.
  • Diversity: The Oasis must be a place of diversified reception, conducive for the growth of fauna and flora.
  • Selectivity: use of local plants and a place of control for invasive species
  • Conservation: limiting night-time lighting and moderating water consumption
  • Solidarity: the oasis nature is a modest but essential contributor to the well-being and health of all

Our Oasis Nature Network sites

Our commitment is to contribute to this great ecological network. A delegation from Humanité & Biodiversité visited the sites to validate their ecological interest. ECT is proud to join this network in two locations. And we hope that this is just the beginning.

  • Renatured areas of the ECT site in Villeneuve-sous-Dammartin (77)

This area of 167,000 m², renatured after the addition of soil, contributes to ecological diversity through the creation of an orchard, wooded areas, open spaces, a wetland and a compensation area suitable for the Eurasian stone-curlew.

  • The grassy car park at ECT’s headquarters

This 4,800 m² open space is used as the company’s car park. It is home to several remarkable trees and old walls that can provide shelter for small fauna.
