In 2025, nearly 800 children visited ECT sites. We invite them to participate in educational and sports workshops. These initiatives enable younger generations to discover our ecological redevelopment projects for degraded areas. These educational sessions raise their awareness of nature and offer moments of fun and discovery.
Educational and sports activities in schools
In partnership with local authorities, ECT carries out sustainable development projects on abandoned sites. This gives rise to new spaces: parks, leisure and relaxation areas, accessible to all. Committed to schools, ECT offers to contribute to their Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) program.
- Through educational modules explaining the projects to children
- Illustrations of the principles of the circular economy for excavated soil
- Planting or nature discovery tours
- Sporting activities on the new ECT sports facilities
Discover nature in their city
Educational field trips offer an opportunity to discover local biodiversity. Planting trees allows students to participate in the renaturation of the site, which is currently undergoing transformation. More broadly, it is an opportunity to observe the flora and fauna and understand the environmental issues at stake on the site. These activities bring students closer to the future project, which is just a few minutes’ walk from their school.
An overview of our educational initiatives in 2025
Houdain (62) - Planting for the future
In January 2025, 60 students from Léon Blum School planted 700 trees in Chaussée Brunehaut Park, which now has nearly 1,500 trees. This initiative, carried out in partnership with the City of Houdain and the Noeux Environnement Association, was an opportunity for a convivial moment with Mayor Isabelle Ruckebusch and the municipality’s elected officials.
Chelles (77) - A "Plant for Nature" operation
The year 2025 was marked by two highlights at the future Jacques Chirac Park. In February, 640 fifth-grade students braved the cold to plant several thousand seedlings, actively contributing to the greening of this new natural space. Then, in November, 45 children from recreation centers and 20 young elected officials from the Municipal Children’s Council took part in a new “Planting for Nature” initiative. The mayor of Chelles, Brice Rabaste, took part in both of these educational initiatives. These plantings are part of an ambitious project to create a 17-hectare nature and recreation park. The project is being led by Safer de l’Ile-de-France and ECT in partnership with Paris – Vallée de la Marne and Chelles.
Villeneuve-sous-Dammartin (77) - Sport on Œil du Ciel
In Villeneuve-sous-Dammartin, 45 students took part in an afternoon of sports at L’Œil du Ciel, a work of land art designed by Antoine Grumbach. Races, relays, and team games brought together collective effort, the joy of sport, and discovery of the site.
