The international journal “Ecological Engineering” has just published a very interesting article. This article is entitled: “Tree growth and macrofauna colonization in Technosols constructed from recycled urban wastes”. It is co-authored by CharlottePruvost and Thomas Lerch (Paris Institute of Ecology and Environmental Sciences, Sorbonne University, CNRS, UPEC, Paris 7, INRA, IRD). The subject at hand is how to use technosols to offer sustainable alternatives to the massive importation of topsoil to meet the growing need for urban greening. A research topic already explored by Charlotte Pruvost as part of a Cifre thesis supervised by Thomas Lerch and supported by ECT.

Developing an equestrian center using inert soil On June 8, ECT opens a new site in the Essonne department, in the commune of Chevannes to be precise. The purpose of this site for recycling inert soil from building sites in the south of the Ile-de-France region is to create an equestrian center. Today, ECT is opening a new site in the Essonne region, in Chevannes (91). The purpose of this site is to develop a  equestrian sports center using excavated soil from building sites in the south of the Paris region. Work is scheduled to take two years.  To access the Chevannes site, you need to be validated by ECT’s Reservation department. Traceability of soil, smooth unloading, compliance with health regulations COVID-19 ECT launched its “FULL DEMATERIALIZATION” project for its unloading orders on June 4. ECT now dematerializes the entire voucher issue, transmission and validation process. And as of this week, 100% of ECT sites are equipped to scan their QR code. A responsible solution for greening the city In situ production of fertile substrate is an environmentally sober solution. It allows us to extend “nature in the city”, a major environmental challenge for the cities of tomorrow. This growing medium, necessary for the greening of the Esplanade Saint-Louis, is part of a circular economy initiative. The upturn in construction activity is confirmed. This is the case for a growing number of building sites and several GPE lines. After an interruption of a few days to implement the necessary adaptation of teams and procedures to the fight against COVID-19, ECT reopened several of its sites from March 25 to meet the residual activity of the building and civil engineering sector, and then to support the resumption of activity.
