ECT builds a mountain bike and trials stadium in Epône in just 4 months

A mountain bike and trial bike stadium, the only one of its kind in the Paris region, to be built in 3 months, between June and October 2020.

On June 15, ECT announced the opening of a new site for the recovery of excavated inert soil in the Yvelines department, more precisely in the commune of Epône.

And so the project, supported by the town council, was launched. And so began ECT’s development of the first trial bike and mountain bike site in the Ile-de-France region, on communal land.

Three months later, we take a look back at a project that is now nearing completion, providing Epône and its club ORC Epône with a unique training and competition stadium in the Paris region. The ORC club will now benefit from 1,000 m² of facilities to resume training and prepare to host future inter-regional competitions.

4 key stages in the progress of ECT’s work

The project was carried out over the summer in several stages.

1- Inert soil from construction sites in western Paris

Begun in June, the earthworks have extended the site and created a new contour to accommodate the various trial apparatus and mountain bike training tracks.

2- Laying the fertile substrate

The fertile substrate manufactured in situ by ECT is a growing medium that does not require imported topsoil. This substrate is a fertile mix of inert soil and green waste compost. It will serve as a growing medium for the site’s trees and embankments.

3- Finishing the models and installing the stadium

The expertise of ECT’s bullists enables them to create the contours of the entire site, and particularly those of the accompanied bends, with technical skill and precision.

4- Installation of fixtures

Today, the fixtures are being positioned according to the ORC Club’s specific specifications. The 1.9 ha site features 150 m² of rock garden, 300 m² of trials area and 600 m² of pump-track.
