ECT in Eastern France

Unbuilt development projects benefiting the Grand Est region

The transformation of derelict sites into urban parks, landscapeed parks or outdoor sports areas is part of the societal challenge of green spaces and sports in cities across the region. They fully support the climate and ecological transition of municipalities in Eastern France.

The reuse of excavated soil from construction sites provides both the material and financing for the project. The new development will therefore be carried out at no cost to the community.

During the construction phase and when inert soil is brought in, the proximity of ECT sites to construction sites is an advantage for the construction industry. This is because it reduces soil transport costs and generates fewer GHG emissions in the region.

A first project is currently underway : the creation of a nature and sports park in the Strasbourg metropolitan area, in Eckwersheim.

"Accompany urbanization by the renaturation of derelict land. Giving abandoned sites a new purpose that benefits local communities.. For example, former industrial wastelands could be revitalized through park projects open to the public or the creation of freely evolving biodiversity zones".
