ECT opens a regional branch in Occitanie

Anne Mondy, directrice développement Occitanie - Anne Mondy, Occitanie Development Director

Toulouse, June 6, 2024ECT, leader in the recovery of excavated soil from the construction industry, announces the opening of a new regional branch in Occitanie. This opening reflects ECT’s ambition to actively contribute to the region’s dynamism by transforming derelict sites into undeveloped projects with an environmental or social vocation.

The new regional branch will be managed by Anne Mondy. Originally from Toulouse, Anne Mondy brings over 20 years’ experience in the property development sector in the Midi-Pyrénées region. In May 2024, she joined the ECT Group as Occitanie Development Director, with the mission of ensuring the company’s establishment and growth in the region.

Recycle surplus excavated soil to transform derelict sites

In Occitanie, the construction and infrastructure sectors generate almost 8 million tonnes of excavated soil every year. The region’s demographic outlook and construction and infrastructure projects maintain a renewed supply of surplus excavated soil, i.e. soil that is not reused on site.

Through its circular economy model, ECT reuses surplus inert (unpolluted) soil to transform derelict sites. This transformation takes the form of a non-built development project offering new spaces for nature and sport in the city, transforming an environmental challenge into an opportunity for the area.

Its leading position enables ECT to implement a controlled, secure and paperless traceability system for inert soils received on the project site.

Concerted development at no cost to the community

ECT works in partnership with local authorities to define the new use of the site, in line with the aspirations of the area. The landscape integration and ecological restoration of the project are at the heart of its design: soil permeability, environmental coherence, biodiversity restoration, integration of the worksite into its environment.

Land reclamation on the site makes the project 100% self-financing.

The company creates projects with a wide range of shapes and uses: urban parks, biodiversity zones, agricultural areas with pastures and orchards, and outdoor leisure and sports areas.

The opening of this branch marks an important step in our national development strategy. The dynamism and ambition of the Occitanie region around its metropolitan hubs, confirms the development prospects of the circular and local model proposed by ECT.

My arrival in the ECT Group to develop activities in Occitania is an opportunity to create useful, innovative and sustainable developments. We aim to set up our sites in or near metropolitan areas, as close as possible to inert soil excavation sites. These projects must meet the needs of nature and sport in the city, at no cost to the community.
