Antoine Oury, ECT’s new Operations Manager

Antoine Oury - responsable exploitation

Antoine Oury, ECT’s new Operations Manager, joined the company in August 2024.Find out more about his background and motivations.

Who are you? Where are you from?

I trained as a geological engineer, graduating from ENSG with a specialization in geotechnics. For 12 years, I worked for Spie Batignolles Fondations, a specialist in special foundations for the construction industry. I held a number of positions there : business engineer, works engineer in mainland France and the French overseas departments, works director, then head of construction quality, technical expertise and innovation.

My career path has led me to collaborate with ECT on several occasions since 2015, notably during a public tender for the Corniches des Forts cool island in Romainville (93) and more recently on quarry safety projects in Meudon (92) and Gagny (93).

These experiences introduced me to Guillaume Paradis, Sales Director, and Mathieu Noël, Operations Director. In August 2024, Mathieu Noël invited me to join ECT as Operations Manager. What convinced me was ECT’s circular economy model for managing excavated soil from the construction industry. And the opportunity to occupy a stimulating position that will enable me to develop new skills.

What is your role as Operations Manager?

The Operations Department manages sites for the reclamation of excavated soil from the building and civil engineering sector. It is responsible for receiving the soil delivered to our customers in the construction and public works sector, and is also in charge of its implementation, in accordance with the plans and specifications defined by the Development and Planning Division.

After an apprenticeship phase, the aim is to take over part of the site operations. This requires me to familiarize myself with the specifics of ECT, its teams, sites and methods.

Since my arrival, I’ve taken on various tasks, such as managing an external site (Vernon), monitoring safety at PLACO sites, and providing support to the mechanical workshop. In the near future, I’ll be taking charge of part of the personal planning, which will strengthen my interaction with the teams in the field. I’m also involved in the opening of some of the new sites.

What's your approach to working with teams?

I rely on benevolence, humility and integrity. I am aware of the challenges our teams face in the field. I have great admiration for their work in the field. My aim is to let them know that they can count on me to support them in their missions. I encourage smooth communication between departments. And I make sure that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities. This clarity is essential if we are to work effectively as a team and achieve our common goals.
