An air of spring on the meadow in front of the Chateau de Vincennes

Two years ago, the City of Paris began planting the esplanade Saint-Louis, opposite the Château de Vincennes. The town called on ECT to manufacture a fertile substrate on site, to support the new planting. ECT’s fertile substrate is made up of inert soil from construction sites and green waste compost. It combines the recycling of locally-sourced data with the refusal to import distant topsoil, in a circular economy approach to construction soil. The green transformation of the former parking lot now offers a new green space in the city. The former parking lot has been transformed into a meadow, a

Fertile substrate, in situ production at Bois de Vincennes

A responsible solution for greening the city In situ production of fertile substrate is an environmentally sober solution. It allows us to extend “nature in the city”, a major environmental challenge for the cities of tomorrow. This material is a local, sustainable alternative to imported topsoil, a natural resource that must be preserved. For 10 days, ECT produced the fertile substrate on site. This growing medium, necessary for the greening of the Esplanade Saint-Louis, is part of a circular economy initiative. The fertile substrate is obtained by recycling inert soil combined with green waste compost. Recycling on an emblematic site

NATURE EN VILLE – ECT PLANTS THE ESPLANADE SAINT-LOUIS IN THE BOIS DE VINCENNES WITH FERTILE SUBSTRATE

An eco-responsible product, this fertile substrate is made from recycled green waste and building materials. Paris May 25, 2020 – ECT announces the completion of a greening project on the Esplanade Saint-Louis in the Bois de Vincennes. ECT produced fertile substrate in situ, at the request of the City of Paris. Its manufacture is part of a circular economy and recycling of inert soil from construction and public works, combined with green waste compost. This material is a local, sustainable alternative to imported topsoil, a natural resource that must be preserved. Fertile substrate is an economically sober solution for extending
