ECT project at Vaux le Pénil (77): end of soil inputs

Limon - Vaux-le-Pénil

The Tertre des Roche development project in Vaux le Penil (Seine-et-Marne- 77) is taking shape. Opening to the public is scheduled for spring 2026.

Creation of fertile soil on the final models

After four months of bringing in inert soil from the local construction industry, ECT’s teams are now finalizing the site. The teams have now completed the modelling of the new layout and they are beginning to lay a fertile horizon. This step is essential to the renaturation of Tertre des Roches. No topsoil is being imported here. The fertile soil is created from selected silts from construction sites.

By winter 2025-2026, ECT’s green spaces teams will plant more than 3,880 trees and shrubs. They will also sow lawns and limestone grasslands. These different environments provide a variety of resources and habitats to encourage local flora and fauna.

Transforming the Tertre des Roches into a natural area

After many years of neglect, ECT has secured and redeveloped the damaged Tertre des Roches site. It has been transformed into a natural space and scenic walkway open to all. Particular attention has been paid to separating the old embankments from the new leisure and relaxation uses.

An educational walk will also allow visitors to discover the stages of this ecological restoration. ECT is carrying out and financing the project thanks to the circular economy of excavated soil. This project illustrates the company’s ability to transform abandoned sites into places of nature and sharing, serving the regions and their inhabitants. communities and their inhabitants.
