Grisy-Suines, inauguration of the site’s agricultural and ecological renewal

In 2019, the agricultural and ecological renewal of the “La Grange-le-Roy” site in Grisy-Suisnes (77) gets underway. On this Tuesday, January 23, after five years of work, all those involved are gathering to celebrate the inauguration of this remarkable transformation. The site has regained  its agricultural vocation and environmental quality, and blends harmoniously into the Brie landscape.

An inauguration attended by the Prefect of Seine-et-Marne

The inauguration, organized by SAFER Ile-de-France, the Grisy-Suisnes town council and ECT, was attended by distinguished guests including Pierre Ory, Prefect of Seine-et-Marne and Sébastien Lime, Secretary General of the Seine-et-Marne Prefecture. Jérôme Regnault, Ile-de-France regional councillor and 1st vice-president of Ile-de-France Nature, Benjamin Beaussant, director of the Ile-de-France D.R.I.E.A.F., as well as the mayors of Grisy-Suisnes and Coubert, and other members of the municipal councils. They discovered the exceptional outcome of this project and symbolically planted a tree, marking the start of a new era.

A project emblematic of the circular economy of excavated soil

The synergy between SAFER Ile-de-France and ECT enabled us to structure the development of the project in the best possible way. SAFER Ile-de-France, with its vision of territorial development. And ECT’s recognized expertise in the management and recovery of excavated soil from construction sites. The site was shaped using soil from local building sites. A project that illustrates both parties’ commitment to a sustainable, circular economy.

Restoring agricultural and ecological vitality

The site visit revealed the new agricultural vitality, with 17 hectares of meadows dedicated to a livestock project. Soil fertility was restored thanks to a fertile substrate developed in collaboration with the Chambre d’Agriculture de la Région ÃŽle-de-France. A concrete demonstration of our commitment to restoring biodiversity, with 7,000 trees planted, 30 wildlife refuges, and the creation of wetlands and ponds.

A long-term commitment to the environment

Ecological monitoring is planned for the next 30 years, with the involvement of dedicated consultancy firms. This underlines the lasting commitment of all stakeholders to preserving and developing the ecological wealth of La Grange-le-Roy. The inauguration marks a new chapter, testifying to the success of a collaborative approach that is transforming a damaged past into an agricultural future.

At the inauguration, official words resounded, marking the ecological and agricultural revival.
