It includes a belvedere with a view, an orchard and an educational pond, an area dedicated to cyclists, a children’s play area and numerous tree plantings. Picnic areas will complete the layout, making it a true place of relaxation, leisure and nature. Also designed with schools in mind, the park will provide an ideal setting for raising environmental awareness among the very young.

Signature of the offer of assistance between the City of Harnes and ECT: a park built at no cost to the municipality
October 15, 2025 – Philippe Duquesnoy, Mayor of Harnes (Pas de Calais – 62) and ECT, represented by Julien Golaszewski, Director of ECT Hauts-de-France, signed the tender for the construction of Bellevue Park in Harnes. They were accompanied by SĂ©bastien Lysik, deputy mayor in charge of sport and community life, and Afia Yattou, deputy mayor in charge of sustainable development. This signing formalizes the partnership between the city and ECT for the redevelopment of the site. The project aims to breathe new life into the park, adapt it to the needs of residents with new facilities, and reconnect it to the city.
All work and equipment for the new park will be provided at no cost to the municipality of Harnes. The offer of assistance is a contract whereby a company interested in carrying out public works undertakes to provide all or part of the work free of charge. The model for reusing excavated soil from construction sites. This free service is the result of applying the principles of the circular economy to the project, whereby excavated soil from local construction sites will be reused on site.
A new natural and landscaped area
A nature park project is underway to transform derelict land into a place of relaxation, nature and leisure, open to all. The aim is to create a lively, welcoming space that will complement the commune’s range of green spaces and improve the living environment for local residents.
The future park will feature accessible paths, an orchard, an educational pond, a playground for teenagers, a bike court for younger children, as well as benches and picnic tables. There will also be belvederes with views over the surrounding landscape. Landscaping will enhance local biodiversity, with the creation of meadows and woodlands.
