September 2025 – In Douai, the ECT Hauts-de-France team is participating in the 69th Congress of Mayors and Presidents of Intermunicipal Communities of the North. It has been a day rich in exchanges, meetings, and activities at the ECT stand, punctuated by discussions around a common challenge: how to develop sustainable territories by recycling inert soil from local construction and public works sites.
This meeting provided an opportunity to present ECT’s circular economy model : the rehabilitation of brownfield sites and abandoned land using inert soil from local construction sites, particularly in the mining basin.
Among the projects presented, the Auby site caught the attention of elected officials. The first project carried out and financed by ECT in the North, it complements the existing range of parks in the region. It is a fine example of what can be achieved through close collaboration between a local authority and ECT : a locally designed development that serves residents and their living environment.
Through discussions, this conference provided an opportunity to reconnect with many local partners, but also to forge new links with municipalities keen to embark on collaborative, self-financed development projects.
A convivial moment, true to the spirit of ECT Hauts-de-France : working together to create sustainable projects that breathe new life into local areas.
