In Carrières-sur-Seine (78), ECT is securing a hazardous site and rehabilitating vegetable-growing land—all without spending any public funds.
ECT leads and implements this projectin partnership with the City of Carrières-sur-Seine, the Saint-Germain Boucles-de-Seine Urban Community, and Grand Paris Aménagement.
Phase 1 · Securing Hazardous Sites – 16.5 hectares
ECT is filling in the former underground tunnels to eliminate any risk of collapse. Inert soil from local construction sites will be used as backfill material. Any illegal dumping currently present will first be removed and sent to approved disposal facilities.
Phase 2 · Agricultural and Ecological Restoration – 5 hectares
ECT has designed a new 2.4-hectare plot for vegetable farming. The land will be reshaped. A fertile growing medium will be prepared on-site. Across 2.5 hectares, plans call for the restoration of wetlands, vegetated slopes, groves, and shrubs—all of which provide favorable habitats for birds, pollinators, and small wildlife.
ECT’s project model once again demonstrates its capacity for urban redevelopment and collaboration with local authorities, without using public funds.
