Interview with Eddie Farcy-Jirot, ecologist with the Ile-de-France Roads Authority (DiRIF) The Common Buzzard is a bird with big yellow eyes and a shrill cry. This migratory bird is a protected species in Europe. It is on the global and European red lists of threatened species. Soil traceability, a major challenge for ECT and its customers Our sites are developed using soil from construction sites. Characterizing and controlling the land is the first step in development. Beforehand, Alexandre checks and validates the origin of the soil and the layout of the earthworks.

As part of its partnership with Astredhor Seine-Manche, ECT visited the Saint-Germain-en-Laye plant. The current experiment analyses different plots, vegetated with topsoil or fertile substrates produced by ECT . The protocol analyzes the development of perennials and lawns.  3 three types of fertile substrates were tested: marl-limestone, silty-clay and sandy-loam. This visit was an opportunity  to take stock of the situation. Initial results on different types of fertile substrate appear to be quite conclusive.

As part of its partnership with ECT, the Crécelles paragliding club in the Yvelines region of France was able to acquire a brand-new two-seater paraglider in early 2021. In October, the club, in collaboration with the Thermique Francilien club, organized a day of discovery for people with disabilities.  Around twenty people, mostly in wheelchairs, took advantage of this initiative. ECT is delighted to have been able to contribute to this initiative. 

Biodiversity training and awareness for ECT field teams Why and how can we take action for nature, both in our everyday lives and on ECT sites? Bernard Chevassus-au-Louis, President of Humanité et Biodiversité, took part in 2 training sessions.
