France 2’s February 14, 2019 TV newscast retraces the route taken to reclaim excavated soil from the Grand Paris Express. ECT uses some of the soil from the site to secure  gypsum quarries in the Paris region. Step 1: Laboratory analysis. Stage 2: quarry inspections.  During the report, ECT’s plant technician checks the quality of the soil in front of the camera. It provides olfactory and visual control. A partnership agreement has been signed between the École nationale supérieure de paysage de Versailles and ECT, paving the way for a new “Landscape and Landscape” corporate chair. ENSP Director Vincent Piveteau and ECT President Laurent Mogno, signatories of the agreement, wanted to strengthen a collaboration initiated in 2017. ECT has joined forces with ENSP to support a multi-year research-action program, the forerunner of a new corporate chair dedicated to land and landscape issues. One of our ambitions is to extend Paris beyond its historical boundaries, while building a “metropolitan oasis”. This is the background to architect and urban planner Antoine Grumbach’s contribution, in which he asserts that “ inert soils are a material of the circular economy” and that their reuse is one of the challenges of a concerted development of “Greater Paris”. As a major player in the reuse of inert soil, ECT is fully committed to this approach.

5 very interested and impressed ECT Environment Department employees visited the tunnel boring machine (TBM) on lot 1 of Line 14, guided by teams from Razel-Bec and Eiffage, the civil engineering contractors for this first 3.6 km section extending Line 14 from Saint-Lazare to Porte de Clichy. Excavated soil from the TBM is managed by ECT.
