L’Å’il du Ciel, a work of art created by the circular economy of excavated soil

Produced by Les Films d’Ici, this 15-minute video presents the conception and realization of L’Å’il du Ciel. On the ECT site in Villeneuve sous-Dammartin, Antoine Grumbach designed a work of land art on the scale of the Paris metropolis. Laurent Mogno, President of ECT, places the work within the overall project for the site, and in a context of circular economy for excavated soil in the Ile-de-France region. Last but not least,farmer Jean-Baptiste Gautier imagines this artistic creation in the heart of the fields, while the site machines sculpt the work and the gardeners draw its contours.

How do you turn an unauthorized dump into a landscaped park? Julia, aged 8, illustrates the answer in comics. This animated comic retraces all the steps involved in ECT’s project: from a damaged site to the park’s opening to the public. The drawing was part of a competition organized by the company for the children of its employees to illustrate the company’s business and their parents’ professions.

Fosse Maussoin Departmental Park

The Parc départemental de la Fosse-Maussoin in Clichy-sous-Bois (93) is a park open to the public, which benefits from this landscaped wooded area. Situated in a densely populated urban area, the 14-hectare park is an outstanding example of nature in the city. In January 2021, the Seine-Saint-Denis département officially inaugurated the park’s first extension. Other developments are underway to create a 22-hectare “green lung”, including a biodiversity zone. A further 7 hectares are currently being developed for this purpose. Renaturation of the former illegal landfill site at Boissy-L’Aillerie / Puiseux-Pontoise (95)

ECT is rehabilitating one of the largest illegal landfill sites in the Ile-de-France region, in the Val-d’Oise (95). Future inflows of excavated inert soil from local construction sites have financed the sorting and removal of litter, which is now complete. Then, in a second phase, they will help shape an agricultural and ecological renewal of the site.
