Landscape redevelopment in Bruay-la-Buissière (62)

Bruay-la-Buissière - panneau site en exploitation

In Bruay-la-Buissière, the deconstructed plots of land of the Cité des Musiciens are the subject of a landscape requalification project. Spearheaded by Maisons & Cités, in partnership with the towns of Bruay-la-Buissière and Divion, the project is being implemented by ECT Hauts-de-France.

A new landscape linked to existing spaces

From mid-June, the site will be receiving inert soil from local construction sites. Scheduled to last around three months, this material will be used to shape the soil and finance the creation of a planted area. The project is a continuation of the existing promenade along Rue de la République. It includes the creation of a new landscaped link with meadows, copses and soft paths, to reinforce the presence of nature in the city.

The aim is to restore nature to its rightful place, transforming these wastelands into a sustainable, diversified landscape. The program includes

  • A 1,500 m² flower meadow will be laid out in front of the homes, offering a diversity of plants that will benefit pollinating insects.
  • Grassed valleys around the edges of plots will facilitate the natural infiltration of rainwater.
  • Gentle slopes planted with groves of trees and shrubs, accompanied by country hedges made up of regional plants, all of certified local origin.
  • A plot dedicated to eco-grazing is also planned.
