Project presentation
The project is being developed on communal land. It is entirely eco-designed in partnership with the municipality of Eckwersheim, which wishes to expand its range of sports facilities. It proposes the creation of a new natural area for walking, hiking, running, mountain biking and cross-country running. Thanks to their accessibility, these facilities will be accessible to the residents of Eckwersheim, neighboring towns and the northern part of the Strasbourg conurbation.

ISO 14 001 internal audit
October 2025 – A few weeks after opening, ECT’s Eckwersheim site underwent its first internal ISO 14001 audit. This milestone confirms the quality of our operations in Alsace. ECT’s Environmental Management System, certified ISO 14001:2015 since 2011, ensures that our impact is controlled at every stage: design, site management, quality control of incoming soil, and development. Congratulations to the teams for their commitment and rigor. Their work contributes to the sustainable recovery of construction and public works soil.
A new stage in the project: inert soil input
September 2025 – The site’s rehabilitation began this September with the addition of inert construction and public works soil. Over the summer, the site was prepared to welcome construction industry customers in complete safety and in accordance with traceability requirements: secure access with a designated route, a reception area equipped with a surveillance camera, a radiation meter and an internet connection for validating the DAP (declaration of acceptance) and transport documents. A local agent checks the acceptability and traceability of the soil at the entrance.
Environmental and social assessment of the project
November 2024- To assess the environmental and societal impact of its projects, ECT uses a composite indicator. Each criterion is assessed individually, then consolidated according to the type of use. The Eckwersheim project scored 8/10. The project, carried out in partnership with the municipality of Eckwersheim, offers new sports and leisure activities accessible to all. It includes a cross-country mountain biking area, a network of walking and running trails, multimodal accessibility, and biodiversity-friendly developments.
The project's ambitions
The eco-designed project with the municipality of Eckwersheim develops new sports and leisure activities on the site, open to all. It complements the existing sports facilities in the commune and meets several objectives:
- Develop a cross-country mountain bike training area, in partnership with Vélo Club Eckwersheim. This development provides a new 4-hectare training area.
- Create a network of paths for walking and hiking, in a green setting. A 650 m circuit is specifically designed for running, with varied gradients for dynamic training.
- Offering multimodal accessibility, the facilities will be accessible by footpaths and a cycle path, and equipped with a tree-lined parking lot.
- To promote biodiversity, tree mounds (regional species) will create transition zones favorable to birds, small fauna and insects. And contribute to the creation of cool islands.
