Project presentation

The project is being developed on communal land. It is entirely eco-designed in partnership with the municipality of Eckwersheim, which wishes to expand its range of sports facilities. It proposes the creation of a new natural area for walking, hiking, running, mountain biking and cross-country running. Thanks to their accessibility, these facilities will be accessible to the residents of Eckwersheim, neighboring towns and the northern part of the Strasbourg conurbation.

The project's ambitions

The eco-designed project with the municipality of Eckwersheim develops new sports and leisure activities on the site, open to all. It complements the existing sports facilities in the commune and meets several objectives:

  • Develop a cross-country mountain bike training area, in partnership with Vélo Club Eckwersheim. This development provides a new 4-hectare training area.
  • Create a network of paths for walking and hiking, in a green setting. A 650 m circuit is specifically designed for running, with varied gradients for dynamic training.
  • Offering multimodal accessibility, the facilities will be accessible by footpaths and a cycle path, and equipped with a tree-lined parking lot.
  • To promote biodiversity, tree mounds (regional species) will create transition zones favorable to birds, small fauna and insects. And contribute to the creation of cool islands.
