In Porcheville, meet the pupils for a day dedicated to an educational project

At the invitation of Nelson Mandela and Pierre et Marie Curie elementary school, ECT teams met with pupils as part of an introduction to sustainable development and biodiversity.

A January morning on the circular economy

The morning session was an opportunity for ECT to raise students’ awareness of the issues involved in the circular economy of excavated soil from urban construction sites. With a very local example: the development of a belvedere and a new park in Porcheville, during the summer of 2022. The students were able to observe and touch the soil samples used on the site.

“An instructive moment, appreciated by all the pupils”, said the headmistress of the Pierre et Marie Curie school.

In March, schoolchildren play an active role in their region

180 pupils from Porcheville schools discovered the park. And have actively participated in the planting of green spaces.

Wearing an apron and equipped with a shovel, the children planted flowerbeds and embankments. In all 6 beds, they planted almost 500 caryopteris and yellow St John’s wort, a mix of perennials and shrubs. On the embankments, the children planted 70 seedlings, a mix of country plants to encourage biodiversity. An educational tour of the park enabled them to discover the remarkable trees and the wild meadow. During the walk, two trees were planted: an oak and a catalpa.

Lhe children immediately the new playground, confirming that the new park is a perfect extension of the Porcheville leisure park.
