ECT creates an urban market garden and orchard using land from construction sites

In May, ECT Hauts-de-France opens a new site in Grenay. For 3 weeks, the excavated soil will be used to create an urban market garden.

The site is 9 km from exit 7 of the A21 freeway. To accommodate trucks and guarantee safe access to the site, compulsory accesses must be used at site entrances and exits.

To visit the site, you need a valid PAD and validation from ECT’s reservations department. The land is received under a strict control and traceability process.

A project run in partnership with the commune and a local association

The transformation of the site is being carried out in partnership with the Grenay municipality and the Activ’Cités local authority. The project is part of an approach combining local food production and social inclusion.

The land received will be used to create 5 market garden plots and an orchard covering an area of 3,330 m2.
