53,000 trees and shrubs planted!

Saison plantation 2026

ECT rolled out this planting campaign as part of its development projects, carried out in coordination with local authorities. Project landscaping consistently incorporates goals of ecological restoration and the rehabilitation of diverse natural habitats, in alignment with local green infrastructure networks and the future uses of the sites. To successfully complete this work, the Development and Green Spaces Department partnered with expert service providers, including in the Hauts-de-France region : the social enterprise Noeux Environnement.

Greening : the green heart of our projects

Between fall 2025 and winter 2026, ECT carried out a large-scale planting initiative, planting 53,000 trees and shrubs across several of its projects in the Île-de-France region (Coubert, Annet-sur-Marne, Chelles, Vaux-le-Pénil, Plaisir) and in the Hauts-de-France region (Mazingarbe, Bruay-la-Buissière / Divion).

These plantings are part of land-use planning projects developed in close collaboration with local authorities, incorporating goals for site rehabilitation and the enhancement of ecological connectivity.

The teams primarily used young forest seedlings (1 to 2 years old), bare-root, planted directly into the ground. The densely planted stands promote natural selection of the hardiest trees and ensure the gradual development of sustainable stands. The operations involved local companies and stakeholders in each region.

Ecological design, adapted to climate change

The design of the landscaping is based on close collaboration between landscape architects and ecologists. Each project incorporates the restoration of diverse natural habitats tailored to the local ecological context.

The methodology adopted aims to enhance biodiversity while taking into account the challenges posed by climate change. This involves planting diverse mixtures of over 70 tree and shrub species, arranged according to the ecological functions of the spaces (central areas, edges).

The selected species are predominantly local and adapted to soil and climate conditions, with adjustments made based on exposure and particular attention paid to species tolerant of drought and high temperatures.

Local sourcing to enhance the ecological resilience of sites

ECT is committed to responsible sourcing, notably through its membership in the Hauts-de-France Hedgerow Network and the use of plants certified as “locally grown.”

This restoration contributes to the gradual transformation of sites into functional ecosystems, consistent with the development guidelines established with local authorities, promoting the return of flora and fauna and strengthening the resilience of these environments in the face of environmental changes.
